Goleniów postcards

This project was my final thesis work for the Academy of Fine Arts of Urbino. The idea was given to me by the year I lived in Poland, where I had the chance to learn more about interesting pieces of history of the West-Pomeranian region during World War II. Goleniów is an iconic living example of how strong history events still have impact on our present. At the end of the conflict, only 20% of the city survived as it was during the german times.
Thanks to the Historical Office of the city, I could find many pictures of how the city and the people appeared back then. I took those pictures and involucrate them on the contemporary views of the city we can find on Google Street View, creating this serie of images. Their main goal is to be used as official postcards of the Goleniów City.
