what inspires me

"CRATERE" means crater in italian. In volcanoes, it's the cavity, mostly funnel-shaped, which forms the orifice of the conduit from which lava flows. The crater represent to me the possibility of an unexpected event to happen. Maybe an explotion, maybe something less, maybe nothing. Caters are also present on the surface of almost every body having a solid crust in the solar system.
There, they are formed by the impact with steroids. Craters are the universal imprint of action.

My name is Katherine Mercedes Ticlla Huatay.
I am an italian-peruvian photographer and videomaker.
Sometimes I like to play with those abilities and create things outside of the box.
Most of the time I am a dog mom.

my background

When I was a child I took and lost hundrend of photographies taken with very old cameras and 2000's phones with 0,3megapixels.
Back then I did not have any idea I could save and keep them, I didn't have basic techology skills of course.
I made sure to never have that problem again by learning to nativage the digital world of photography and art. Therefore I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Urbino Academy of Fine Arts, where I studied photography, videomaking and multimedia design.

I always loved to travel, so I signed for the one year project "European Voluntary Service" (now ESC). There I worked as a photograther, videomaker and digital content creator for the polish indipendent theatre Teatr Brama, based in Goleniów, Poland. I didn't just take photos there, they teached me how to give back to your community throughout art. 

Currently I am looking for a creative and stimulating job in the photography and videomaking field, where I could apply my skills and improve myself, I would be pleased to work in a team.

As a side passion I collaborated with other artists and no-profit associations that pursue my values of minorities representation, LGBTQIA’s freedom, animal protection and climate change awareness.

soft skills

I have adhd, deadlines make my life easier, I love them.
I can hyperfocus on movies for many hours and my roomate only knows how this is the super power got me more resilient and that I use to manage big scale of work and hardly get tired when I'm post-producting or designing.
Focus on details when creating an image are essential to communicate a story.
I love storytelling, both visual or written form.
For that I have published some poems on a poetry collection in 2020, and my dream is to work in the visual storytelling world.
I have done a variety of different jobs growing up to save up for my studies. All of these jobs required me to adapt and learn fast from each situation in order to deliver the best service possibile. Meanwhile I have been in contact with various type of people and improved my comunicational skills, autonomy and team work.
Each of these jobs made me a better observer of everydaylife, therefore when I need inspiration for a new photography project that's definetly were I go for.
